Job Connect wage incentive training program
Our Job Connect wage incentive program provides an opportunity for you to hire and train a new employee while we cover part of their wages.
Duration and hourly rate of reimbursement is based on the training requirements of the individual. A win-win situation occurs when the worker gains new skills and experience, and the employer gains a trained employee and financial acknowledgement of the time it takes to conduct the training.
Simple to use with a minimum of paperwork.
We work with you to help ensure the employee’s success.
We’ll promptly send your reimbursement. |

Apprenticeship training
Participating in apprenticeship training allows you to develop employees who are not only trained to provincial industry standards, but who also understand your specific workplace.
Our Job Connect wage incentive program can help cover some of the initial training costs of your new apprentice. In addition, the provincial government offers an Apprenticeship tax credit of up to $5,000 per year, for the first 36 months for certain skilled trades.
| The Apprenticeship Scholarship Signing Bonus provides a $1,000 incentive for apprentices under 25 years of age who have left school before completing the necessary academic requirements for registering in a trade, when they return to school to complete their academic upgrading. It also provides for a $2,000 signing bonus for their employer when they are registered as an apprentice. |
The Ontario government is committed to ensuring Ontario has the competitive workforce that employers need to remain prosperous in the 21st Century. A strong apprenticeship program is key to achieving that goal.
